RIGHT???? it came to me when my sibling and I watched boom but it really codified itself for me in the mombot episode. because boom eggman always wants to look cool in front of sonic. he always wants sonic's approval in the really weird "look how good a villain i am!!" way. as well that this series is the most explicit in that eggman and sonic Need each other and will go insane if the other one is out of commission because both of them will be bored to death. if eggman is out then sonic will immediately turn into a nuisance so bad all his friends band together to get eggman to blow something up again

additionally eggman is The character who keeps asking sonic about amy, which i thought of as eggman being the no.1 boom sonamy shipper, but can also be read as making sure if sonic is single
